Cherry Point Vineyards Releases Popular Cowichan Blackberry Dessert Wine to BC Liquor Stores
Cobble Hill,
BC
– Cherry Point Vineyard’s Cowichan Blackberry dessert wine has been one of Cowichan Valley’s most sought after wines since it was first released over a decade ago. In fact, the product became so popular that guests would place their name on a waiting list to try to be one of the lucky few who could purchase a case or two each year. Those were the days when the winery was only able to produce a very small amount. In the past few years Cherry Point Vineyards has increased the amount of cases they produce to not only keep up with demand but also to produce enough to be able to distribute it province wide through the BC Liquor Stores.
“We are so happy to be able to finally have this product available throughout the province,” says Cory Ursulan, General Manager of Cherry Point Vineyards. “We see visitors each year from all over BC who would like to be able to purchase a bottle once they return home. Now we can tell those visitors to go to their local BC Liquor Store.”
Cowichan Blackberry is a rich sweet fruit wine produced from luscious wild blackberries grown in the Cowichan Valley. The Cowichan First Nations people harvest the blackberries during the first two weeks of August and the resulting product is rich, sweet and juicy with a velvety mouth feel. Over the years, this product has proved to be a consistent favorite, drawing guests from around the world back to the farm time and time again as they purchase for themselves or as a special gift.
While not every BC Liquor Store will have Cowichan Blackberry on hand, each store manager has the ability to order the product in upon request. To view which stores currently carry the product please visit the Vineyard’s website at www.cherrypointvineyards.com. If your local BC Liquor Store is not on that list please inquire with the store manager.
Cherry Point is located in Cobble Hill B.C. just 45 minutes from Victoria. The wine shop is open everyday from 10am to 4pm for sales.

Cherry Point Vineyards Unveils
One-of-a-Kind Product
Three Years in the Making
Cobble Hill,
BC
– Wine lovers searching for something new this Christmas season will be
rewarded with a stop at Cherry Point Vineyards. The vineyard has
recently unveiled their latest blackberry product - Solera dessert wine.
Solera, has taken three years to produce and will be available for
purchase in the vineyard’s wine shop, select wine
shops on Vancouver
Island and the Lower Mainland
and in participating BC Liquor
Stores.
Solera is produced by taking Cherry Point Vineyard’s
world famous Cowichan Blackberry and gently applying the Solera aging
process. The wine is then given significant time to age in barrel
combining delicate wood notes and rich mellow fruit. Solera is
left to age quietly under the watchful eye of traditional First Nations
masks in a private barrel room at the vineyard.
The solera process is a rare
method also used in aging fine sherry and the very best balsamic
vinegars. The many years of blending and aging make Solera a
testament to the winemaker’s patience and search for the perfect blend.
“Using
the solera process allows us to create a dessert wine with an evolved
complexity and a smooth taste that is uniquely delicious here on the
Island,”
says Cory Ursulan, General Manager. “This is the next evolution in
blackberry and for anyone who has previously enjoyed our Cowichan
Blackberry dessert wine; this is a must-try.”
Cherry Point is located in Cobble Hill B.C. just
45 minutes from
Victoria.
The Vineyard’s Bistro is featuring special 12-days
of Christmas
Winemaker’s dinners throughout the month of
December. The wine shop is open everyday from
10 am to
4
pm for sales and tastings.
