The
2004 Cherry Point Concert Series
For the 2004 concert season,
we have asked some of our favorite guest artists from previous years
to put together special programs to celebrate our tenth anniversary.
June 6 - Patricia
Kostek and Friends
Ms Kostek, a clarinetist, has given recitals and master classes in Japan,
Sweden, Poland, Belgium, France, Germany, Canada, the USA, Brazil and
Argentina. She is affiliated with many chamber music ensembles in the
Pacific Northwest and is much in demand as a soloist.
Many of you will recognize her name; she has
played at Cherry Point with the Island Chamber players in the past.
Among Patricia's more recent recordings is a solo CD featuring 20th
century works. Patricia is the Acting Director of the Faculty of Music
at the University of Victoria.
June 27 - John Selkirk
and the Cathedral Brass Ensemble
John has played with the Victoria Symphony as the first trumpet player
for several years. This gentleman is a true music enthusiast and we
look forward to having him return once again to Cherry Point to perform.

29 - Eine Kleine Summer Music Players
LauraBackstrom, in her best “Ein
Kleine Summer Music” tradition, has brought us a wonderful group of
musicians for the last three concerts, some from previous seasons at Cherry
Point, and some new to this venue, but all well known and loved by Vancouver
Island music lovers. These talented musicians come from a variety of backgrounds;
faculty members from UVic and UBC; as well as members of the Victoria Symphony
and the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra.
